December is a wonderful time of year and is especially so in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Stated as the friendliest city in Idaho the community shows itself off with the Chrismas spirit of giving and helping.
The Frye Foundations "Festival of Trees" is but one function that "gives back" to the community. Held December 9th, 10th, and 11th at the Bonners Ferry Fairgrounds with the final night being the fundraiser auction/dinner affair. The first two nights are for the public and children to visit with Santa. Pictured right is Abby Moss, Chair-Coordinator of the gala event for the 2nd year.
Prior to the opening and after all the hard work, of dozens of volunteers, the donated trees, wreaths and baskets are judged on various catagories. Best of Theme, most whimsical etc. After breakfast at Chic n Chop judges enjoy first peak at the transformed hall. Bonners Ferry Rotary was there to help with some of the judges again this year. The decorated hall never fails to take an adult back to their childhood days. .. the magic of the season and the true spirit of Chrismas. Thank you for the journey again this year Abby and all that you do to insure the success of this event.
